JOB TITLE:DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL REPORTING

REPORTS TO: VP Finance

Position summary:
In this challenging position, you will provide Project Management skills involving projects related to financial applications and financial reporting.  This will include implementing a new Chart of Accounts and extensive process improvement to effectively utilize financial reporting application.
You must possess knowledge of accounting as well as financial reporting knowledge and familiarity with the JDE Applications to be successful.  This individual must have J.D. Edwards One World (Enterprise One experience) Financial and Payroll system experience. (Experience in Gaming or Hospitality a huge plus!) Experience in managing upgrades and an ability to drive dramatic improvement in financial application effectiveness for timely and accurate financial reporting highly desirable.

Accountabilities:

  • Be able to manage and collaborate with project team(s) to define business requirements and lead all functional design and requirement gathering activities. Provide guidance and suggestions to quickly adapt to changes and continuous process improvements.
  • Provides leadership on all new and existing business application initiatives related to or involving Finance, accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • Supports defined Company strategies as the liaison from the Accounting and Finance division within the organization to IT. Leads and directs multiple Accounting and Finance project initiatives concurrently.
  • Must have experience creating functional specifications used in the implementation of Accounting and Finance reporting uses and changes.
  • Facilitates and supports improved business processes and strategies by supporting/assisting with the requirements for the implementation, and maintenance of business applications related to or involving Accounting and Finance Division.
  • Leads in the discovery and requirement gathering for Finance and accounting applications.
  • Directs and facilitates meetings and sessions with department business leadership as it relates to process design and business application use, integration and reporting
  • Responsible management for all Accounting and Finance business application initiative to adhere to Company deadlines.
  • Responsible to respond and help resolve issues related to Accounting and Finance business applications not functioning properly.
  • Responsible for maintaining a structured financial reporting process improvement for effective guidance of accounting personnel that can be measured and monitored.
  • Provides daily, weekly and monthly project status and project hours and costing metrics to management and Finance division as required.

  • Qualifications/Skills/Experience
  • BS Degree in Accounting or related/equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Accounting
  • Successful track record in project management and customer relationship management
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications ( Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible to 50% travel.
